A sweet girl named Heather, emailed me and asked if I would share her story to help bring awareness of this preventable disease. I was more than happy to do so.
Heather was diagnosed 8 years ago with this cancer and given 15 months to live, after the removal of her lung and lot of fighting, she is one of the lucky ones who is now thriving. She is on a mission to bring awareness and eradicate this disease.

Sept 26, 2014 is Mesothelioma Awareness Day
In honor of Heather Von St. James and my great friend Don Riding, I dedicate this post to them in hopes of saving more lives, while bringing awareness.
Mesothelioma is PREVENTABLE.
It is exposure to asbestos-a silicate mineral we have been using since 1930.
Once you are exposed it attacks the lining of your lungs.
The effects are not seen immediately.
Asbestos is found in some ceilings, toasters, classrooms, hair dryers, and industrial buildings.
